Core Hardware Parts

• 
  Patch Panel Frame: A 19-inch rack-mountable metal chassis (commonly 1U or 2U high) with 12, 24, or 48 ports. You can choose a fixed punch-down style or a blank keystone version.

• Keystone Jacks / Modules: Snap-in RJ45 connectors (Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6A) used to terminate horizontal solid-core cables on a blank panel.

• Rack or Wall Bracket: A 19-inch metal frame, wall-mount bracket, or enclosed server cabinet to hold the panel securely.

Termination and Cabling Parts

• Bulk Ethernet Cable: Solid-core twisted-pair cable (Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6A) running from wall plates to the telecom room.

• Patch Cords: Short stranded-wire RJ45 patch cables to connect the front of the panel to your network switch.

• Cable Management Bar / Lacing Bar: A rear metal bar attached to the back of the panel to support cable weight and prevent bends.

Tools and Fasteners

• Punch-Down Tool (110-type): Used to seat and trim individual wires into IDC blocks or keystone modules.

• Cable Stripper / Snips: For removing outer cable jackets and trimming wires cleanly.

• Rack Screws and Cage Nuts: Hardware to mount the panel into a standard rack.

• Cable Ties or Velcro: For organizing wire bundles on the management bars.

• Cable Tester: To verify pinout mapping and continuity of every terminated run.
